Christmas Tree Decorating at Orthopaedic Specialists
Red & Gold Christmas Tree
Dr. Stacie Grossfeld, board certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician, enjoys some holiday Christmas tree decorating with her team at Orthopaedic Specialists. She chose a red and gold theme for her Christmas tree decorating. In order to find the decorations, Dr. Grossfeld went to Joanne’s Fabrics and Michael’s and looked for pretty decorations that fit the tree.
Favorite holiday tradition: “Along with spending time with my family and friends, I love putting up the trees at my own home. We have four full-sized Christmas trees fully decorated.”
Blue, Silver & White Christmas Tree
Angel McDowell works in the insurance and billing department at Orthopaedic Specialists. She chose a silver and blue theme for her Christmas tree decorations. Talking about how she chose her decorations, Angel explains: “Me and my son Abram (age 13) were shopping and he helped me pick out the colors for my tree, which was nice.”
Talking about her Christmas tree decorating at home, Angel explains that it is much more colorful with all the ornaments she’s collected with her family over the years.
Favorite holiday tradition: “I love it when everyone comes to my house for the holidays and I get to spend time with my family. It is really special when my daughter comes home from college.”

Dr. Seuss Themed Christmas Tree
Talking about her tree at home, Ashley explains that she uses different types of decorations that include owls and squirrels.
Favorite holiday tradition: “Putting up our Christmas tree at home. We do this the day after Thanksgiving!”

My Old Kentucky Home Christmas Tree with Handmade Decorations
Dorothy Cochran runs the Medical Records Department at Orthopaedic Specialists, and she also serves as the Work Comp Coordinator and Appointment Scheduler. When she started figuring out how to decorate her Christmas tree, she went to Hobby Lobby.
Dorothy explains, “I always find a lot of inspiration at Hobby Lobby. While shopping around, I saw some scrapbooking stickers and realized I could turn those into ornaments. And at the base, I used a real horse shoe. My brother works as a farrier in New York and I was able to get it from him.” Dorothy also used twine, burlap and red silk roses to decorate her tree.
Favorite holiday tradition: “My favorite is our Christmas Eve tradition when we have pizza under the tree. We make homemade pizza and buy root beer in the bottle and eat the treats that our neighbors and friends bring to us.”
Favorite holiday food: Pumpkin pie, hands down!

Country Classic Christmas Tree Decorations
Heather Hardiman is a Medical Receptionist at Orthopaedic Specialists in Louisville Kentucky. She decorated her Christmas tree according to the style that she likes in her home. She used stars, berries, snowmen and woodsy ornaments.
Favorite holiday tradition: “My favorite holiday tradition is having my family come together in one location and making good memories.”
Favorite holiday food: “I love cabbage casserole.”

Silver, White & Blue Tree with Big Topper
Lindsay Rhodus has been working at Orthopaedic Specialists for more than 8 years. She chose a special silver topper with berries and sparkle to go on her Christmas tree.
In terms of tree decorating, she explains, “I was thrifty and used materials that I already had. I did all the decorating on my own with a silver, white and blue theme.”
Favorite holiday tradition: “I love Christmas eve at my home with my husband and two boys Zach age 10 and Brennan age 14. As part of our family tradition, we all get into our new pajamas and open one gift.”

University of Louisville Themed Christmas Tree
Marti Spencer, a Medical Receptionist at Orthopaedic Specialists, decided to decorate her tree with a University of Louisville theme. Marti LOVES U of L and even has a red tree at home. In order to decorate this Christmas tree, Marti used a variety of decorations including some she found at Wal-Mart, and a topper that has “Number 1.” Marti even used keychains to create unique tree decorations.
Talking about what she is going to do with her tree after Christmas, Marti explains: “I lost my mom in August. And I think I am going to bring this tree to her grave because my mom was also a U of L fan like me.”
Favorite holiday traditions: Marti has three children Morgan (21), Chaz (20) and Drew (15) that she loves to spend time with. She explains that while Halloween is her family’s very favorite holiday, they still love spending time together at Christmas and they focus on the importance of the little things…including delicious no bake cookies, a favorite recipe from her mama.

Hauling the Christmas Tree
Meghan Dawson is, an X-Ray Tech with Orthopaedic Specialists, talks about being frugal when decorating her Christmas tree: “I did not spend a dime when decorating my tree! I am proud of that!” In terms of the materials required, Meghan disassembled a burlap bow for the tree to be tied to the truck. And her 8 year old son let her borrow the truck 🙂

Elf Themed Christmas Tree
Rhonda works in the insurance/billing department at Orthopaedic Specialists, and she’s also in charge of Durable Medical Equipment, off-the-shelf braces, and custom braces. She used an Elf Theme for her Christmas tree. Explaining how she did it: “I started out by going to Pinterest for ideas. I love elves so I thought I would use that as a theme. I went to Michael’s and saw some elves, but they didn’t have any clothes! So I jazzed them up with sweaters and hats and put them on the tree.”
At her own home, Rhonda says she also has an Indiana University-themed tree decorated at her home.
Favorite holiday tradition: “I love spending time with my family. We usually go to my mother in laws at Christmas eve and Christmas day I enjoy cooking for my father and step mom.”

University of Kentucky Themed Christmas Tree
Jennifer chose to create a bright blue University of Kentucky themed Christmas tree complete with lots of details including blue ribbon, a big blue star and UK-themed ornaments. Best of all, the tree even has Santa’s naughty list. (Stop by Orthopaedic Specialists for additional details on this). After Christmas, Jennifer plans to bring this tree back to her house where she and her family will enjoy it.
Favorite holiday tradition: “I love seeing my family over the holidays, especially people that we don’t get to see very much during the year. I always love spending time with my kids Daniel (21), Hannah (16) and Tyler (13).”
Favorite holiday foods: “I love my Uncle Steve’s broccoli casserole and my Aunt Melanie’s coconut cream pie.”
Traditional Christmas Tree with Sentimental Ornaments
Tisha is the Office Manager at Orthopaedic Specialists in Louisville KY. She used some of her favorite Christmas ornaments to decorate her tree. She’s had these ornaments for many years and was given the ornaments as a gift from her aunt Nancy about 12 years ago. The ornaments include characters from traditional holiday stories like: A Christmas Carol, the Nutcracker and the Night Before Christmas.
Favorite holiday tradition: “I like cooking for my family. Years ago my aunt brought our whole family together and those are some of my favorite memories. So now I enjoy doing this, and having my Aunt Nancy, Uncle Gary, and other family members come over and spend time together.”
Favorite holiday food: “We all love the dressing.”
