Each year U of L’s Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine chooses one faculty member to receive this special Departmental Award.
The Departmental Award is meant to honor a physician who exhibits dedication and service to the University of Louisville and the medical student residents, like orthopedic doctor Stacie Grossfeld MD.
This year Orthopaedic Specialists’ Dr. Stacie Grossfeld received this very special honor. Dr. Grossfeld was presented with the Departmental Award by University of Louisville Department Chair Dr. Michael Ostapchuk.
The Departmental Award was presented to Dr. Grossfeld at the graduation dinner and awards ceremony for the graduating class of 2013 from the University’s Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine.
The graduation dinner and awards celebration took place on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Grossfeld’s passion for orthopedic medicine is represented by the work she does to support and mentor medical student residents to further their medical education, training and skills in orthopedic medicine.
Dr. Grossfeld worked with all of the graduating University of Louisville residents from the class of 2013. Each of the graduates completed a medical residency rotation at Dr. Grossfeld’s medical practice, Orthopaedic Specialists.
This Departmental Award from the University of Louisville is one of several special honors Dr. Grossfeld has recently received. In February 2013, Dr. Grossfeld received the Patients’ Choice Award, a special recognition based on high patient reviews. Further, Dr. Grossfeld is also ranked in the Top 10 Orthopedic physicians in Louisville, Kentucky, based on the America Top 10. With nearly 100 orthopedic surgeons in the Louisville, Kentucky area, this Top 10 ranking comes as a major honor.
